Natural gas is made up of mixtures of hydrocarbon gases. It often includes CO2,H2S (non-hydrocarbon) and other gases. CO2,H2S will cause corrosion of equipment, pipelines, and CO2 will lower the natural gas' calorific value. Additionally, LNG (liquefied naturally gas) raw material CNG, compressed natural gas, must be removed prior to liquefaction. This will prevent crystallization in cryogenic processes clogging pipes and equipment. Dry ice can form from carbon dioxide during liquefaction and can clog pipes. CNG with high CO2 levels must be removed in order to make it into LNG.
